Medical Diagnostic Testing
Insight Eyecare and Optical provides advanced diagnostic testing for a wide range of medical eye conditions.
Insight Eyecare and Optical at Saint Cloud is excited to offer several advanced diagnostic instruments in order to provide complete and cutting-edge care to our patients with medical eye conditions. These conditions include but are not limited to diabetes, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), Plaquenil testing, and more. Here is a look at the current advanced instrumentation provided at our Saint Cloud location:
OPTOS Optomap Retinal Exam
The OPTOS provides a full 360 degree view of the back of your eyes, known as the retina. The image is acquired non-invasively and without dilation of your eyes. This image provides your doctor with important information regarding the overall health of your eyes and is recommended for any patient as part of a comprehensive eye exam.
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
Optical coherence tomography (OCT) scans provide your doctor with an image “underneath” the back of your eye acquired non-invasively and in a matter of seconds. OCT images provide critical information for patients with conditions of the optic nerve (such as glaucoma) or retina and macula (such as diabetes or age-related macular degeneration). These images allow for early detection of eye conditions which can help preserve your vision.
VF2000 Visual Field Analyzer
Insight Eyecare and Optical is excited to offer the VF2000 Visual Field Analyzer, which is the first commercially available “virtual reality” visual field device on the market. This device enables patients to test their visual field abilities in a more relaxed, low-stress environment than traditional visual field testing modalities. The results provided by this test are necessary in order to track the progression of glaucoma and Plaquenil usage. However, visual field testing has a wide variety of applications – your eye doctor will recommend this test as needed and will interpret your results.
